Framings of innovation, responsibility, and responsible innovation in China: insights from a case study undertaken with Chinese businesses

The discourse of RI has gained considerable international momentum in both academia and policy over the past decade. Originating West, transduced across academic disciplines, spheres, geographical boundaries. There are however very few empirical studies that have explored framings innovation responsibility China how these intersect with Western RI. This paper attempts to address this gap by conducting an in-depth case study involving companies located Changsha County, within Chinese province Hunan. Our findings suggest extant underpinned a mixture logics institutional entrenchments heavily influenced norms, policies, ideology State. These turn heuristically shape perceptions We close some reflections on overlap they may influence RI’s transduction future.
